Lemons into Lemonade...

** Romper: Vintage (love this one) / Bustier:  Forever21 (get here) / Wedges: Target (old) / Belt: Vintage / Tights: Nordstrom / Clutch: Vintage **

There is actually a story to this romper and how it came to be.  First of all, it started as a full jumpsuit.  A friend came across it and sent it to me to see if I could resurrect it. (Thanks Tori!) I took the challenge!

I wish I had a before photo of it, but see if you can picture this: MC Hammer like pants and the top half much looser.  There was a huge stain on much of the knee area of the left leg.  So, I knew I was going to make it shorts.  Then, I worked with my tailor to tweak the fit.  We brought in the sides, sleeves and made the back side more flattering.  We kept the shoulder pads to keep with the shoulder influence trend of last year.  It also help keep the hourglass shape.  Something you must have in a romper or it will look like pjs.  I added the large belt to help with this, as well.

I was so happy with the outcome,  I ended up wearing this for my New Year's outfit last year.  Still working on what to do for this year.  I will keep you updated!

What are your plans for New Year's attire?
