This dress has an amazing story behind it. My great aunt is the caretaker of an estate that once belong to a lady that worked for MGM studios from the 1930s to her retirement. When she passed away my aunt was left many of her personal items. Recently, she meet me at my mother's home to show me an entire trunk filled with vintage clothing goodness!!
There were several gowns, dresses, suits and accessories. Another great addition to this fabulous day, was that she informed me most of the items were made by the costume designers on set! They used Lana Turner's, a famous Old Hollywood actress, dress form. This is one of those dresses. I am working on minding loose seams and buttons on the other ones. So, more to come!
I can't believe I was able to fit in them, but because they focus on an hourglass shape everything was perfect! They didn't have stretch fabrics back then, so you can't squeeze into things. Definitely, going to be a way to keep me on my toes with my size!
Getting a trunk of amazing vintage clothing made a great day, but what was the best was spending the time with my great aunt and my grandmother. They had so much fun using me as their doll! And I as well!
Tomorrow I will share how to pull your floral dresses into Fall! Stay Tune!
